- Get a sandwich bag and fill it with water, at least half way.
- Take the sandwich bag and place it in the shoe, make sure it is in there all the way.
- Place the shoe in the freezer overnight.
- Remove the shoe from the freezer and pull out the frozen bag from the shoe.
What the frozen ziplock bag has done is expanded the shoe. The water froze into ice which forced the shoe to expand slightly (say what!!!). Make sure you remove the frozen bag from the shoe before the ice melts completely. You don't want to ruin your nice pair of Twelve23 pumps (haha plug).
OMG, my shoes stink, like stank, like stizzank
This is something that is kind of common. We say "common" because this happens to us in shoes (flats) that we don't wear socks with and shoes that have fabric, which soaks up the sweat from your feet (throw up NOW). It can also happen when you wear shoes in the rain/snow, they become wet and damp and cause an unpleasant odor. Of course we have a freezer tip for you to help get the odor under control (so unladylike).
- Good old fashion baking soda. Sprinkle baking soda inside your shoe.
- Put your stinky shoes inside a plastic bag and place them in the freezer overnight.
- Remove the shoe from the freezer.
Freezing the shoe kills the bacteria and the baking soda is a cleaning agent and odor eliminator (I know you all have a box of baking soda in the fridge).
OMG, I just stepped in some GUM in my new pair of shoes
There is nothing more annoying than stepping in gum and ESPECIALLY in a new pair of Twelve23 shoes (plug me, lol). Here are two easy freezer tips to help you get someone else's saliva covered gum off of your shoe (Yuck).
- Put your shoe in the freezer for a few hours, remove, and chip off the gum.
- Get a plastic bag and press the plastic onto the gum. Put the bag into the freezer for a couple of hours and then remove from freezer. The frozen gum should now be stuck to the plastic bag and easy to remove.
